Terms of use
Last updated 12 October 2026
The short version
- Every listing says who sells it: Rewoon, a kringloop partner, or a private seller. Your contract is with that seller.
- When you buy from Rewoon or a kringloop shop, you have full consumer rights. Between private people, those rights do not apply.
- Never pay through a link someone sends you in a chat. We never ask you to.
- Listing is free. Be honest about the item, and only sell what is yours.
- If we remove a listing or limit your account, we tell you why, and you can ask us to look again.
1. About these terms
Rewoon (rewoon.com) is a marketplace for second-hand furniture and household goods in the Netherlands. It is run by ReHome BV. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Rewoon" mean ReHome BV, and "you" means anyone who uses Rewoon.
These terms apply to everyone who visits Rewoon or has an account. By creating an account you accept them. Section 11 adds rules for kringloop shops that sell on Rewoon. How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy policy.
2. Who you buy from
Every listing carries one label that tells you who the seller is:
- Sold by Rewoon. We own the item and sell it ourselves. Your contract is with us, and section 4 applies.
- Kringloop partner. A second-hand shop sells the item. Your contract is with that shop, not with us.
- Private seller. A private person sells the item. Your contract is with that person, not with us.
For listings by kringloop partners and private sellers, we provide the platform. We do not own those items, we do not check them, and we are not a party to the sale.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- Use your own name or a fair display name, and an email address you can read. Keep your details up to date.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens through your account. If you think someone else has access, change your password and tell us.
- One person, one account. Do not create a new account to get around a suspension.
4. Buying items sold by Rewoon
Reserving and buying
You can reserve items sold by Rewoon from your cart. A reservation holds the item for you; it is not yet a purchase. We then contact you to confirm the price, payment and delivery. The purchase is final when we confirm it to you by email or WhatsApp. If the item turns out to be unavailable, we tell you and you pay nothing.
Prices and delivery
Prices are in euros and include VAT where VAT applies. ReHome delivers items sold by Rewoon. Delivery of fixed-price items costs €4,95, and is free for orders of €20 or more. When you combine two or more fixed-price items under €20 each, you get €6 off. The total you pay is always shown or confirmed before the purchase is final.
Changing your mind (14 days)
When you buy without having seen the item in person, you can cancel the purchase within 14 days after you receive it, without giving a reason. Tell us by email or WhatsApp within that time. Return the item in the same state you received it, within 14 days after you cancel. We refund what you paid, including the original delivery cost, within 14 days after you cancel, but we may wait until we have the item back. Unless we agree otherwise, you pay the cost of returning the item. If we collect it, we tell you the price first.
If something is wrong with the item
Our items are second-hand. We describe their condition and show their wear in the photos, and normal wear that matches the description is not a defect. But the item must be as described and usable for its normal purpose. If it is not, you have the legal right to repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund. Tell us within two months after you discover the problem. This right is set by Dutch law and these terms do not limit it.
5. Buying from shops and private sellers
- You arrange the sale, payment and pickup directly with the seller, through Rewoon messages or the contact details a shop shows.
- Kringloop partners are businesses. When you buy from them, you have the same consumer rights as described in section 4, but against the shop. The shop is responsible for the item, its description and any returns.
- Private sellers are not businesses, so consumer rights such as the 14-day cooling-off period do not apply. Look at the item before you pay, and agree clearly on price and pickup.
- An offer on a "make an offer" listing is an invitation to the seller. There is only a sale when you and the seller agree.
Stay safe
- Pay when you pick up the item, or with a method you know and trust.
- Never pay through a payment link or to a bank account sent in a chat by someone you do not know. When a message asks for payment, we show you a warning.
- Rewoon never asks you for a "verification fee" and never asks for your password.
- If something feels wrong, stop and report the listing.
6. Selling as a private seller
- Listing is free. If we ever introduce fees, we tell you before they start, and they never apply to listings that are already online.
- Only sell items that are yours to sell, and sell them as a private person. If you sell regularly as a business, you must register as a kringloop partner (section 11).
- Describe the item honestly: what it is, its condition, its defects and its measurements. Use your own photos of the actual item.
- Keep your listing up to date. Mark it sold or remove it as soon as it is no longer available.
- Your listing goes offline automatically 40 days after it is published. You can put it back online.
- You are responsible for the sale, the item and any taxes on what you earn.
7. What is not allowed
You may not list or offer:
- Stolen goods, counterfeits, or items you do not have the right to sell
- Weapons, ammunition, drugs, medicines, alcohol, tobacco or vapes
- Dangerous items, such as recalled products, items that are unsafe to use, or hazardous chemicals
- Animals, food, or anything that needs a licence to sell
- Services, jobs, rentals, or anything that is not a physical item for sale
- Adult content, or anything that is illegal in the Netherlands
You may not:
- Post fake, misleading or duplicate listings, or spam
- Try to scam people, including asking for payment through links or for "fees"
- Harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone
- Post someone else's personal data, or photos of people without their permission
- Use bots or scrapers, or interfere with how Rewoon works
- Write reviews about your own items or trades you did not take part in
8. Your listings, photos and reviews
What you post stays yours. You give us permission to show it on Rewoon, to resize and crop your photos, and to show your listing in previews when someone shares it, for as long as it is online. You confirm that you have the right to post it.
Reviews must be honest and about a trade you actually took part in. We check reviews before we publish them, and we do not publish reviews that break these terms. We never change what a review says.
9. Reports, moderation and appeals
Reporting
Anyone can report a listing with the report button on the listing page. To report other illegal content, email [email protected] and tell us where it is, why you think it is illegal, and your name and email address. We confirm that we received your report and tell you what we decided. Reports are read by people, in Dutch or English.
What we can do
When something breaks the law or these terms, we can remove or hide a listing, review, question or message, limit what an account can do, or suspend or close it. We choose the lightest measure that solves the problem, and we act faster for scams and safety risks. We may also hide a listing while we check a report.
We tell you why
When we take a measure against your content or account, we tell you by email what we did, why, which rule or law applies, and how you can appeal, unless that would be against the law or would help a scammer.
Appeals
You can ask us to review a decision for up to six months after it. Reply to our email or write to [email protected]. Someone who was not involved in the first decision looks at it again, and we reply within two weeks. You can also take the decision to an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the EU Digital Services Act, or to court.
Contact point
Users and authorities can reach us about the Digital Services Act at [email protected], in Dutch or English.
10. How listings are ordered
- On the browse page without a search, listings appear in a random order that changes per visit and stays the same while you scroll. Items sold by Rewoon are given more weight in that order: on average, they are about three times as likely to appear near the top as other items.
- When you search, or show only one kind of seller, the newest listings come first.
- Category and seller filters only narrow down what you see; they do not change the order rules.
- Nobody can pay for a higher position. We do not sell placements or advertising.
11. Kringloop partners
This section applies to shops that sell on Rewoon, in addition to the rest of these terms.
Joining
Shops apply through the application form. We review each application and may refuse it, for example when we cannot verify the shop. We tell you the reason. Listing is free for partner shops at this time; section 15 explains how we announce changes.
What we expect from you
- You sell as a business. You give correct and current business details: name, address, contact details and, on request, your KvK number.
- You follow consumer law in your sales, including the 14-day cooling-off period for distance sales, the legal guarantee, and clear prices including VAT.
- You answer questions from buyers in reasonable time and keep your stock up to date.
- You are responsible for the accounts of your staff and for what they post.
Our own stock
We also sell our own items on Rewoon, and we treat them differently from partner listings in these ways: only our items carry the "Sold by Rewoon" label; they get more weight in the browse order (section 10); and the delivery prices and bundle discount in section 4 apply only to our items.
Data
You see the messages and questions buyers send to your shop, and the listings and contact details you add. We have access to all data on Rewoon to run and protect the marketplace, as described in our privacy policy. We do not share your shop's data with other shops.
Suspension and ending
If we want to stop working with your shop altogether, we tell you at least 30 days in advance and give our reasons. We can suspend or end it straight away, with reasons, when the law requires us to, or when your shop seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. You can then respond, and we reconsider when you show the problem is solved. You can stop at any time by emailing us.
Complaints
Send complaints about how we treat your shop to [email protected]. We confirm within 5 working days and give you a substantive answer within 30 days.
12. Delivery by ReHome
ReHome, our sister company, moves and delivers furniture. ReHome delivers items sold by Rewoon, and you can book ReHome to transport items you buy from others. When you book ReHome, ReHome's own terms and privacy policy apply to the transport. ReHome is responsible for the transport; the seller remains responsible for the item.
13. Our responsibility
- For items sold by Rewoon, we are responsible as the seller, as the law requires.
- For items sold by kringloop partners and private sellers, we are not a party to the sale. We are not responsible for those items, their description, their payment or their delivery, unless we did something wrong ourselves.
- We work to keep Rewoon online and safe, but we cannot promise it is always available or free of errors.
- Where the law allows, our liability for the use of the platform is limited to direct damage, up to €500 per event. This limit does not apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, and it never limits rights that consumer law gives you.
14. Closing your account
You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected] from the address linked to it. Your listings go offline straight away. Purchases that are already agreed still have to be completed. We can suspend or close accounts as described in section 9.
15. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when the law or our service changes. We tell you about important changes by email or on the site before they take effect: at least 15 days in advance for kringloop partners, and in reasonable time for everyone else. If you do not agree with a change, you can close your account before it takes effect.
16. Law, complaints and disputes
Have a complaint? Email [email protected] and describe what happened. We answer within 14 days, or tell you within that time when you can expect an answer.
Dutch law applies to these terms. If you live in another EU country as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of that country. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless the law gives you as a consumer the right to go to the court where you live.
